English Translation
मेघरवम् thunder of clouds, निशम्य heard, प्रतिनादशङ्की suspected it to be the sound of the enemy, युद्धाभिकामः desirous of waging war, सम्प्रस्थितः started to go, मार्गानुगः following the way, शैलवनानुसारी following the trees of the forest along the mountain, मत्तः proud, गजेन्द्रः elephant, प्रतिसन्निवृत्तः turned back.
English Commentary
'Intoxicated elephants on their march along the mountain in the forest, hear the thundering sounds of clouds and suspecting it to be the call of proud elephants to fight turn back.
